As the summer winds down and we prepare for the 2013-2014 school year we are focusing on the essentials in education. Again this year, I will be emphasizing the importance of “ACCOUNTABILITY” to our students. The students’ understanding the philosophy of taking responsibility for his/her actions is vital for their future success. There are a few policies that will be emphasized to the students and I ask for your help and support in these areas as well: wireless communication devices, dress code, bullying, public display of affection, and attendance. Working together, we can provide a structured learning environment that promotes student success.
I am excited to inform you that Antwerp Middle School (grades 6-8) will be implementing a National Junior Honor Society (NJHS) this school year. This is a prestigious organization that will help establish and expand on our focus of academic and social performance. The members of the NJHS will strengthen their abilities to use his/her skills to improve the society around him/her. This prestigious membership is not a right, but a privilege. Students must meet certain criteria to be eligible for this organization. The students will receive the informational brochure on the first day of school.
