It is difficult to believe that we are rapidly approaching the end of the second grading period. The first semester will come to a conclusion on Friday, December 19th. It is a good time to remind you that our high school students will be taking their semester exams on Thursday, December 18th and Friday, December 19th, so attendance is vital.
As we are approaching the end of the second grading period, I encourage the parents to utilize Progressbook to stay informed of your child’s grades. If you have any questions about your child’s grades, I encourage you to contact the classroom teacher. You can contact them by leaving a voice mail or by emailing them.
I would like to congratulate each of our students earned their place on the honor roll for the first grading period. The middle/high school had approximately 170 students earning this placement, which demonstrates the emphasis on academics. One of our goals is to continually challenge these students towards their true academic potential.
The staff would like to thank the parents who attended the parent-teacher conferences on November 4th and 11th. The more interaction/communication between the school and home, the greater success our student’s will achieve. I would like to thank the middle/high school staff for their efforts. They are truly a dedicated group who has your child’s best interest at heart.
The Josten’s representative visited the school on October 13th to provide the seniors with graduation information and returned on October 23rd to take their graduation orders. If your child didn’t order his/her graduation items on October 23rd, then you will need to order on-line or mail your order into Jostens. If you have any questions, please contact the high school office.
Those students who took the Fall Ohio Graduation Test, their results will available mid to late December 2014. We will mail the results as soon as district receives them. The spring Ohio Graduation Test will be here before you know it. The Spring 2015 OGT will be administered to all sophomores and any junior or seniors who haven’t passed all five subject tests.
The spelling bee, for grades 5-8, will be held on December 12th at 1:30pm in the Auditeria. This event will begin shortly after the lunches have been completed and will last until the end of the school day. We invite all participants’ parents and/or grandparents to attend and support them. We ask that you enter the building through the high school office.
