About the Organization:
Student Technology Services was founded in the spring of 2001 through a "matching funds" grant awarded by S.O.S. (Students For Other Students), a non-profit organization promoting peer mentoring. The school employs some of the STS students during the summer and for special projects during the school year. Students take the courses Student Technology Service I, II, III, and IV as they progress through high school. During their assigned class period and at other times during the day they perform many technology-related support services such as hardware and software support, assisting staff with technology integration, independent online learning, and assisting with the live morning broadcast. The STS students also run Technology BOOT Camps during the summer to train new STS interns and other students on various aspects of technology.
